Mathmos is growing and we have exciting plans for the future. We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our friendly, tight-knit team; some work remotely and some are based in the lava lamp factory in Poole with parking on-site next to Holton Heath railway station. (we are moving to a larger factory in the middle of Poole in spring 2020)

Warehouse Controller

£23,000 - £27,000

Start Date: ASAP

This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright, can-do allrounder who is as comfortable behind a desk as they are on the factory floor to develop their career in a well-known niche company.

Skills

  • Highly computer literate with good Excel and all-round skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a warehouse
  • Ideally forklift truck licence
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels.
  • Some man management experience.
  • Ideally Health and Safety & Fire Officer.
  • Self-motivated, able to work as part of a small team and extremely flexible.
  • A can-do commercial attitude.

You would have responsibility for a small team in control of;

  • Warehouse Management to include stock control, goods inward, movement of goods.
  • Production; to the agreed plan.
  • Fulfilment of all orders.

You would also assist the Operations Manager as required on Facilities Management, Purchasing, Production Planning, New Product Development, HR and a range of other tasks.

Design Internships - full or part-time

Mathmos offer placements providing fantastic hands-on experience seeing products through from concept to sale. (NB. Only petrol or train fare and lunch are paid, please ensure you can afford an unpaid role before applying)

You Need;

  • To have finished or be partway through a relevant design degree.
  • To live within a one hour commute of our factory: BH16 6LG. 
  • To be able to commit to a minimum of 4 months either full time or 3 days a week. 
  • A personable and willing attitude.
  • Solid Works and Adobe Suite are an advantage.

You will Receive Hands-on Experience in the following areas;

  • Product design and development
  • Packaging Design
  • Product sourcing, supplier management
  • Setting AQLs and managing product quality
