Part Time Bookkeeper / Finance Manager  £20 - £25 pr.hr.

We are seeking a new part time person to controll the finance function two days a week based in our Poole factory.

You will manage the Accounts Assistant and between you produce monthly management accounts, VAT Returns, reconciliations, perform company secretarial duties, manage transactions, payroll, annual budgets, manage cashflow, Intrastat etc. You will liaise with insurers, bankers and accountants and act as authorized signatory.

You will work with the management team to increase profitability and cash generation. You will work closely with the shareholder to determine future directions for the company.

You will have a deep understanding of accounting principles and associated regulatory matters. You will also have experience within a company trading worldwide, ideally within a company selling product and trading through both ecommerce and wholesale channels. You must have a good knowledge of Sage 50 and a good up-to-date all round computer knowledge.

For the right individual this is a great opportunity to work part time but still contribute at the highest level to a heritage company.

Mathmos Design & Marketing Placements

Based in our Poole factory Mathmos offer unpaid placements providing fantastic hands on experience seeing products through from concept to store.

You Need;

  • To have finished or be part way through a relevant design degree.

  • To live within a one hour commute of our factory: BH16 6LG. (We will pay either a petrol allowance or train fair (our factory is next to Holton Heath train station and has parking) plus lunch.

  • To be able to commit to a minimum of 4 months either full time or 3 days a week. (Please ensure you can afford to take an unpaid role before applying.)

  • A personable and willing attitude.

  • Solid Works and Adobe Suite are an advantage.

You will Receive Hands on Experience in the following areas;

  • Product design and development

  • Product sourcing, supplier management

  • Setting AQLs and managing product quality

  • Sales and Marketing experience both selling to retailers and direct to the public via Mathmos’ international websites.

  • Exhibition design and execution
