Temporary Purchasing & Warehouse Assistant (Maternity cover)

Location:   Mathmos Factory, Poole, Dorset

August 2017 - February 2018

£18,000 - £20,000 per annum (depending on experience)

As part of a small team we are looking for someone who will support both the operations manager and production team. You will ensure the smooth running of small manufacturing and pick/pack departments within a warehouse environment. You will ensure that daily workloads are planned and achieved to meet the agreed targets, focussing on prioritising dispatch notes to meet agreed cut off times  

Role Objectives

  • To progress sales through to dispatch and maintaining at all times the correct service provider(s) are used.
  • Continually cross check sales orders and provide support/feedback on reported issues.
  • Ensure that the pick/pack areas are issued with the required labelled dispatch notes to meet daily distribution.
  • To support the Operations Manager all stock levels to meet sales expectations and demands.
  • Maintain agreed stock levels as planned by the operations manager.
  • To assist in raising raw material purchase orders to an agreed plan .
  • Supply the account department with all completed purchase orders to include all other required paperwork.
  • That all received stocks are entered into the accounting system and accurately maintained.
  • To inform all members of the sales/marketing team of all completed sub-assemblies and finished stock.
  • Minimise overdue purchase orders into either production or sales requirements to maximise replenishment efficiency.
  • Ensure at all times the reported stock levels within the accounting system are available to meet sales demands.
  • Report low stock levels due to daily operations or late supplier deliveries.
  • That all finished stocks held within the picking bays are stored in a safe and secure manner and are clearly identified.
  • Complete both perpetual and year end stock counts.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:         A can do approach and willingness to learn.

                        Microsoft office and keyboard skills

Ideally:            You will have worked in a similar role

                        Have Sage 50 experience

Social Outreach Officer  - Freelance

We are looking for an experienced digital marketing freelancer with great social media skills to work with developing our business. You will work closely with the senior team coming up with ideas to widen Mathmos' reach, launching new products and collaborations. You will have a deep understanding of current social media best practice and work to expand Mathmos’ reach Internationally. 

You will also have an outgoing pro-active personality. You will be great at blogger outreach and confident contacting people for collaborations. You will have a good feeling for the Mathmos brand and ideas on how to take it forward.

You can be based anywhere but will need to be available for meetings in London and very occasionally Dorset. There will be a constant level of work rising for planned campaigns and launches.

Design Internships - full or part time

Mathmos offer placements providing fantastic hands on experience seeing products through from concept to sale. (NB. Only petrol or train fair and lunch are paid, please ensure you can afford an unpaid role before applying)

You Need;

  • To have finished or be part way through a relevant design degree.
  • To live within a one hour commute of our factory: BH16 6LG. 
  • To be able to commit to a minimum of 4 months either full time or 3 days a week. 
  • A personable and willing attitude.
  • Solid Works and Adobe Suite are an advantage.

You will Receive Hands on Experience in the following areas;

  • Product design and development
  • Packaging Design
  • Product sourcing, supplier management
  • Setting AQLs and managing product quality
